How It All Began: The Story Behind My Scent Creations
A Small Beginning
It started simply — just a few drops of essential oil in my room. I loved how a single scent could transform the atmosphere so quickly. Then one day, I began mixing two or three together — lavender with cedarwood, orange with vetiver, rosemary with bergamot — and realized how differently they unfolded from the first breath to the lingering base.
Each blend felt like a tiny story, with its own rhythm, balance, and emotion.
That was the moment I discovered the power of natural fragrance — how scents can shape mood, memory, and energy within a space.
Learning by Doing
I never studied perfumery in school. I’m a self-learner, endlessly curious. I read every book I could find, took notes, and experimented every day. Later, I joined workshops on essential oils and natural perfume making. Those classes taught me the basics — the science, the structure, the safety — but I quickly realized that true understanding comes only from experience.
Sometimes I’d spend hours adjusting just one note, only to find the perfect harmony days later. Other times, one spontaneous combination would come alive instantly. That’s what keeps me creating — the unexpected magic of scent, the emotion that can’t be taught but only felt.
The First Candles
One winter, my husband and I decided to make candles as Christmas gifts. We blended the scents together, talked about which one suited which friend, and poured each candle by hand. When our friends and family opened them, they asked where we bought them. That simple question changed everything — maybe this could be more than a hobby.
But when I tried to turn it into a candle brand, something felt missing. The wax was just a carrier. What truly mattered was the scent itself — the story behind it, the feeling it carried.
From Candles to Pure Scents
So I shifted my focus back to what I love most: creating essential oil blends. Natural, emotional, alive. I wanted each scent to stand on its own, to transform a space even without a flame.
That’s when I found lava stones — raw, porous, and beautiful in their simplicity. They hold and release scent slowly, breathing with the room. It felt like the perfect match for my handcrafted blends.
Creating a New Scent
When I start a new scent, it’s like meeting a person or stepping into a scene. I imagine the feeling first — calm, warmth, clarity — and then build from there. Some days nothing works, and after hours of smelling, my head spins from too much fragrance. But sometimes, in just minutes, everything clicks. The notes find each other, and suddenly I can see the story in the air. That’s when I know it’s right.
